Fly Fishing

If you fly fish, some of the best fishing in the country can be found only minutes from our front door. We highly recommend using a guide if you’ve never fished our waters before.

Higher Education

The Carlisle area is a haven for higher education. Home to Dickinson College, Penn State Dickinson School of Law and nearby universities, Shippensburg U and Messiah College. Links for all the educational websites are found below. Dickinson is home to Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet in the summer.

Appalachian Trail

The Appalachian Trail is nearby and provides fantastic hiking and gorgeous fall foliage which generally hits peak season in mid-October. Kings Gap Environmental Education Center has varied trails to accommodate all levels of hikers.

The Gettysburg National Military Park is less than 45 minutes away from our bed and breakfast, making it a great attraction for our guests to visit. You’ll find galleries, exhibits, interactive museum, and more. Even if you are not a true history buff, you’ll enjoy learning about the Battle of Gettysburg and the hands-on experiences about the Civil War.

Hersheypark has been a family fun destination since 1906. It is a little less than an hour from our bed and breakfast and a great day trip thing to do. Hersheypark is a 121-acre amusement park offering all kinds of thrills and entertainment. They offer lots of holiday fun throughout the year and in the summer you can also take part in the impressive full waterpark.
